What is nook Premium?
Premium offers two different badges: Blue, a paid monthly membership, and Notable figure, a free identity review by nook staff. Open Premium from the account menu.
What Blue gives you
- A blue badge beside your name on your profile, posts and replies. It shows you're a supporting member.
- No follower requirement. Anyone with an account can subscribe.
- In communities that have a custom member badge, members with Blue get that badge too.
Blue shows that you support nook. It doesn't confirm who you are. For that, see How do I get a Notable figure badge?
Subscribe on the website
- Go to Premium.
- Under Blue, select Subscribe for $5 / month.
- Pay on the secure checkout page from Stripe, nook's payment provider. Checkout may offer a price in your local currency.
- Come back to Premium. Your badge appears once payment is confirmed.
Blue costs $5 USD a month plus applicable tax, and renews each month until you cancel. Premium shows Renews and the date of your next payment.
Didn't finish paying? Select Continue checkout to pick up where you left off, or Close checkout to drop it.
Subscribe in the iPhone app
Where App Store purchases are available, you can subscribe to Blue in the nook iPhone app. Apple charges you the price the App Store shows, and the membership renews each month until you cancel it in the App Store. On the website, Premium then shows Active through the App Store.
Subscribed with Apple but the app doesn't show it? Select Restore purchases in the app to reconnect your membership.
Cancel Blue
- Go to Premium and select Manage subscription.
- On Stripe's billing page, cancel your subscription.
Your membership won't renew. Premium shows Ends and the date, and you keep Blue until the end of the period you've paid for.
If you subscribed in the iPhone app, cancel in your App Store account. In the app, Manage in App Store takes you there. Deleting the app doesn't cancel it.
When Blue ends
Blue lasts only while your membership is paid. When it ends, or a renewal payment isn't collected, the blue badge goes away.
Closing your nook account cancels website Premium right away, and you lose any paid time that's left. It doesn't cancel an Apple subscription. See How do I close my account?
Refunds
For a refund request or a problem with a website payment, contact Support. Apple handles refund requests for App Store purchases. The Terms have the details.
If nook gave you complimentary Premium, Premium shows the date it ends. It's free, doesn't renew and never charges a payment method.
