How do I get a Notable figure badge?
A Notable figure badge is a gold badge beside your name. It shows that nook staff reviewed your identity as a notable public figure or a key opinion leader (KOL), such as a creator, project or organization. It's free, and you don't need Blue.
The badge confirms who you are. It isn't an endorsement of you or of what you post.
Before you apply
- You need public evidence that connects you to the identity and supports your notability, such as official sites, public profiles or press coverage.
- Only you and nook staff can read what you submit.
- You can send up to five applications a week.
Apply
- Go to Premium and select Apply as a notable figure, or go straight to Notable figure verification.
- Under Applicant category, choose Notable public figure or Key opinion leader (KOL).
- In Who are you?, describe the name, project or public role you want verified, in 20 to 4,000 characters.
- In Public proof of identity and notability, add links to your public profiles, official sites, coverage or other evidence.
- Check the box to confirm you're applying in the category you chose and that your evidence supports it.
- Select Apply as a notable figure.
Follow your application
Select Applications in the account menu, or go to Applications, to see each application and its status. Staff may ask for more information before they decide. Open the application, write your reply and select Send response.
Changed your mind? Open the application and select Withdraw application. Staff stop reviewing it and it can't be reopened, but you can apply again later.
After a decision, you can still write to staff under Appeal or follow-up.
Once you have the badge
- It appears beside your name on your profile, posts and replies.
- If you also have Blue, your name shows the Notable figure badge.
- In communities that have a custom member badge, members with a Notable figure badge get that badge too.
- Changing your display name hides the badge. Getting it back needs a new review.
