How do I close my account?

You can close your account from Settings. Closing an account can't be undone.

1. Go to Settings, then Account.
2. Under Close account, select Review account deletion.
3. Select Review account deletion again to prepare your request. This doesn't delete anything yet.
4. Review the list. If you own communities, confirm that they close with your account. If you pay for website Premium, confirm its cancellation.
5. Type your username to confirm, then select Delete my account.

You may be asked to sign in again first. If you own a community and want it to stay open, hand it over to another member before you close your account.

What happens to your information

• Your profile, sign-in methods, sessions and connected wallets are removed.
• The text of your posts and replies is replaced with a placeholder, and your images are deleted. Other people's replies stay in place.
• Your memberships, likes, saved posts, history, drafts, follows and notifications are deleted.
• Your username stays reserved, so nobody else can take it over.
• Some private billing and moderation records are kept.

Communities you own close with your account: they become private and their members lose access. An Apple subscription must be cancelled separately in your iPhone settings. For more detail, read the privacy policy.
