How do I create a nook account?
You can create a nook account with your email address, with a sign-in provider, or with a crypto wallet. Every way starts with your birth date.
- Select Sign up at the top of any page, or go to Sign up. Enter your Email and select Continue.
- On Before you join, choose your birth date by month, day and year, then select Continue.
- Your email is already filled in. Enter your Display name, Username and Password, then select Create account.
If you see Continue with Google or Continue with Apple, you can use that account instead of a password. You'll then be asked to Choose your username, or you can keep the one suggested for you.
To use a wallet, select Create account with a crypto wallet. It works with Ethereum and Solana browser wallets. See How do I connect and verify a wallet? for more.
Wallet-only accounts have no email recovery, so keep access to your wallet. If you want email recovery, sign up with email and turn on wallet sign-in later: in Settings, select Manage wallets, then use the Wallet sign-in section. See How do I manage my verified wallets?
About your birth date
- You need to be at least 13 to create a nook account.
- If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission.
- Your birth date stays private. It's saved when you create your account and can't be changed in settings.
- It controls access to mature content, such as communities marked 18+.
Username rules
- 3 to 24 characters.
- Letters, numbers and underscores only. Usernames are always lowercase.
- It has to be one nobody else has taken.
Your display name is what people call you, and you can change it anytime. To change your username later, go to Settings and select Choose a different username.
Once your account is ready, you land on Home. Next, join a few communities so your feed fills up with things you care about.
