How do I connect and verify a wallet?
Verifying a wallet proves you control an address, so you can get Holder and Dev labels in token communities and join communities that ask for a minimum balance. You sign a message in your wallet. There's no transaction, and no gas or fees.
Connect and verify
- Select Connect wallet in the top bar. On a phone, open the account menu and select Wallets, then Connect wallet. You can also go straight to Wallets. Once you've verified a wallet, the top bar shows Wallets instead, and the button there reads Connect a new wallet.
- Choose your wallet and approve the connection in it.
- Check the address. If your wallet has more than one, pick the one you want.
- Decide whether to check Show this address on my profile. It's off unless you turn it on.
- Select Sign and verify wallet, then approve the signature in your wallet. If your wallet shares addresses on more than one network, the button says how many addresses you're verifying, and you approve a signature for each.
The message names nook's website, your address, a one-time code and an expiry time. For Solana and EVM wallets it also says that it doesn't sign you in, grant any permission or move any funds, and some of those wallets still show it as a sign-in request.
Which wallets can I verify?
You can verify addresses on Solana, EVM networks, TRON, TON, Sui and Aptos. One EVM signature covers the same address on every supported EVM network, such as BNB Chain and Base. The saved proof says Ethereum because that's the signature format, not the network your wallet is on.
Show or hide an address
A verified address stays private unless you show it. Private or public, it counts for Holder and Dev labels. To change this later, go to Wallets and turn Show on profile on or off.
Remove a wallet
On Wallets, select Remove from profile next to the address, then Remove address. The address is no longer verified on nook, and any Holder or Dev labels that rely on it go away. Adding it back means signing again. If you also use a wallet to sign in, removing an address doesn't change that.
nook will never ask for your recovery phrase, seed phrase or private key. Don't enter them anywhere, and never share them with anyone.
