Creating and moderating communities

How do I buy a paid badge for my community?

If you own a community, you can buy it a blue badge that appears beside its name, in its header and on the Communities page. The badge shows the community paid for it. It isn't an identity endorsement, and it says nothing about the safety or value of the community or its token.

What you can buy

  • Paid community badge: the blue badge beside your community's name.
  • Custom community package: the paid community badge, plus one custom member badge for your community. It shows beside the names of members who have Blue or a Notable figure badge. This package isn't always offered.

Both are one-time payments, plus applicable tax. There's no subscription. The page shows the price before you pay.

Buy a badge

  1. Open your community, select the ⋯ menu in its header, then Community settings.
  2. Select Verification & badges. Only the owner sees this tab.
  3. Select the purchase button under the product you want. It shows the price.
  4. Pay on the secure checkout page from Stripe. Once payment is confirmed, the page shows Paid community badge active or Custom verification active.

Didn't finish paying? Select Continue checkout, or Close checkout to drop it.

Only the community's current owner can buy a badge. Where App Store purchases are available, owners can also buy them in the nook iPhone app, at the price the App Store shows.

Your purchase history

Select Community billing in the account menu, or go to Community billing. It lists the community purchases you've paid for, with their status and amount. You can close an unfinished checkout there too.

If ownership changes

The badge belongs to the community, not to you. If you hand the community over, it keeps the badge, and your purchase stays in your Community billing history.

Refunds

If a payment is refunded, the community loses the badge. It's also hidden while a payment is disputed.

For a refund request or a problem with a website payment, contact Support. Apple handles refund requests for App Store purchases. The Terms have the details.
