Wallets and tokens

What are token communities?

A token community is a community tied to one token: a contract address (CA) on a specific network. Its header shows the Chain and Token address, and you can select the address to copy it.

The person who creates a community can link it to a token when they set it up (see How do I create a community?), and the owner can change it later in the community's settings. Some token communities are run by nook's official account and show an official nook mark beside their name.

Do I need to hold the token?

Usually not. A community can set a minimum, shown as Join minimum in its header. To join one of these:

  1. Verify a wallet on the token's network.
  2. Make sure your verified wallets hold at least the minimum. nook adds up the balances of all your verified wallets on that network.
  3. Select Join or Request to join.

The balance is checked when you join, and again when a moderator approves a request. Once you're a member, posting and replying follow the community's usual rules. A minimum can be set only for tokens on Solana, TRON and EVM networks.

Holder and Dev labels

Members with a verified wallet can get one of these labels beside their name on posts and replies in that community (Dev, if both apply):

  • Holder: one of your verified wallets currently holds some of the community's token. nook checks again regularly, so the label goes away if you no longer hold it.
  • Dev: one of your verified wallets created the token. nook finds the creator from the token's public creation record and matches it automatically. You can't claim Dev yourself, and it doesn't depend on your balance or on who runs the community. Dev isn't available for TON tokens.

Both labels count every verified wallet, even ones you don't show on your profile. Removing a wallet ends the labels that rely on it.
