How do I report or block someone?

If a post or reply breaks the rules, report it so the community's moderators can review it. If you'd rather not interact with someone at all, you can block them.

Report a post or reply

  1. Select the ⋯ menu on the post or reply.
  2. Choose Report thread or Report reply.
  3. Under What is wrong with it?, describe the problem, for example spam, a scam link, or adult content without a warning.
  4. Select Send report.

Your report goes to that community's moderators. They see your profile, your reason, and the content as it was when you reported it. You can report the same item only once, and you can't report your own posts (delete them instead).

There isn't a separate button to report an account. Report the posts or replies that concern you, or contact nook through Support.

Block someone

  1. Go to the person's profile.
  2. Select the ⋯ menu next to the follow button (Follow, Following, Follow back or Mutuals).
  3. Choose Block @username, then Yes, block @username to confirm.

They aren't told that you blocked them. A block works in both directions:

  • You won't see each other's posts or replies in feeds, threads, search or profiles.
  • Any follow between you is removed, and neither of you can follow the other.
  • You won't get notifications or reply emails about each other, including mentions.

Unblock someone

Select Unblock on their profile, or go to Settings, then Privacy, and select Unblock next to their name under Blocked accounts. Unblocking lets you see each other again, but follows that were removed don't come back on their own.

Urgent safety concerns

To remove an intimate image shared without consent, or to raise a child safety concern, follow the steps on the Support page. Read what's allowed on nook in the community rules.
